| Movement If you've checked the charts during the week, you may have noticed that #2 Hendrik Bunde became champion, passing #1 Raphael Segas. He cut almost 0.5 off his AF, with two PRs on DKM which rank 2nd and 3rd. Even though Hendrik reaches #1 in the AF, Raphael Segas had slightly better stats in PRSR, total times and ARR. After some words of encouragement, Raphael decided that MKDS is less fun after all, and played some of his weaker scores that were hurting his AF. He also managed two PRs, and made up 0.3 in AF to sneak ahead of Hendrik once again by the end of the week. They are currently 3.56 and 3.65 in AF! A rivalry for the top 5 shows that Raphael is ahead in all the stats, perhaps due to Special Cup domination. #5 Vincent van der Fluit made a few PRs himself to get within 1 AF pt from #4 Marius Mollenhauer. He's already a whole point clear of Richard Karlsson, but can he catch Marius? #9 Fernando Moritz dos Santos is slowly working his way through the almost-2-pts gap left between him and #8 Rene Bauer, scoring some Myth times this week. #17 Cedric Willo passed #18 Bo Garman with a 0.3 cut, most notably scoring a WR in the process on BP 3lap! And some bad news... Cedric ended up just one standard short of reaching Titan+! #35 Jake Sopcak is on a mini-streak, with 9 PRs this week and a commendable 2.5pt AF cut. This puts him ahead of #36 Steven Zwartjes and within striking distance of #33 David Grard and #34 Emmanuel Debenest. Jake is now with 5 places of reaching US #3 player Alejandro Hernandez, who was on a high this week after getting 32/32 Titan (he beat the BC 3lap standard to Titan D by just 0.001). #67 Benoit Boudreau cut 3 AF points and edged #68 Simon Laflamme by half a point, making him the top-ranked Canadian. Where to next, Benoit? He says he'll be playing a bit less because of studies, but we know he's lying. Today pimpin' Canada, tomorrow the world. Two places behind Benoit is #69 Alan DeLoriea, who is unfortunately not Canadian (otherwise he'd have 3 in a row). Alan raced 8 PRs to start off this month, which was enough to pass three players. One place behind him is #70 Aron Langerak, fresh legs from the Netherlands, who scored 15 PRs to cut 5pts and move up 5 places. Alan, Benoit and Aron all reached Hero B this week, too. #76 Ivo van der Stap, also Dutch, returned about 10 days ago after having been mising for a few months. This week Ivo cut 6 pts himself, just as Aron was ready to jump ahead again. There's only 5 players between them, so they're still close. #135 Christophe Cosentino is making a nice push for the top 100, with a 12pt cut this week to move up almost 10 places. Chris passed #140 Peter Toch to became the #2 ranked Belgian, but he's still got some way to go before he can reach #85 Tom Salden. #176 Stacy Needham continues her (I presume...? Someone correct me!) comeback from last week, moving up another 20 places. Stacy reported 16 new scores, and the timesheet is now very consistent - all 32 scores are Expert. Made it to Expect C overall. #298 Ben McElmurry, fresh legs from the USA, crashed into the top 300 with a chunky 37pt load off, thanks to 18 new PRs. He's currently making a stop-over and paying his respects to the late #297 Sebastien Husherr, I guess, before departing towards the top 250. Ben gets an extra special mention, not just because he reached Adv C, but because he's a Zelos fan and everyone knows that real men wear pink. Not far behind, #330 Kyle Fraser returned after 2 months absence, and reported 30 new PRs. Kyle cut 36 AF pts and moved up almost 35 places. Honourable mentions: #79 Jonas Natanaelsson (Hero C and 1337 ARR), #210 Kenny Cott (Expert D), #385 Michael Suzuki (skipped Int C to Int B). New Records Two WRs, both from unexpected names. Trystan Pugh fought off Fernando Moritz dos Santos to regain the Mushroom Bridge lap with 25"908, beating it by 0.01. Fernando got a WR here close to New Year's Day, but now Trystan has both the MB WRs again. On the same day as Trystan's WR, Olivier Peruch missed it by 0.03, making it into 4th spot (and Myth +). The God cut-off is 25"900. Cedric Willo seems to have somehow beaten the record in one of the more annoying races, getting a 1'04"797 in Baby Park. This is less than 0.01 faster than Jonathan Steel's mark from 5 months ago. Both players, as well as Rene Bauer, have a Myth A score. Cedric missed out on M+ by just 0.008. New Players Welcome to... Matt Barretta from the USA (Int D, ~485). Ben Quick from the USA (Adv B, 262nd). New Movies Benoit Boudreau DDD 29'2 BP 8'7 BC 46'4, Vincent van der Fluit LC 1'15'8, Fernando Moritz dos Santos BC 45'4, all on the MB. Christophe Cosentino 7 vids (mostly Expert times). |
