18 March 2004: "Kiss me, I'm Irish"
Alex Penev is a machine... plain and simple. Penev racked up 8 new site records this update and pushed his average finish under 2 and his total times frighteningly close to the 27 minute barrier. Will he ever be stopped? Only time will tell. Stefan Baczynsky has moved up into 3rd place and is closing in on Luke Mulders. Paul Tanney passed Jon Anderson to move into 6th place however both players were very active this update and both are getting very close to catching Martin Cesar. Bart Janssen-Bouwmeester passed Michael Jongerius for 9th place and Michael Fried made a big jump from 14th to 10th becoming the US chapmion in the process. However he might not hold that title for long with newcomers Jon Prentice, 12th, and Matt Flees, 15th. For those of you who don't know, Matt Flees is the Super Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball 2 champion and is already showing great potential in MKDD. To me it's very interesting seeing the best of different games starting to compete together in the same rankings... can GE champ Bosshardt pass Monkey Ball champ Flees... will either be able to catch MK64 champ Jongerius? Interesting stuff people. For the rest of the rankings click that average finish link and peruse it at your leisure.

Alex Penev took the LC site records down to 1'16"868* and 0'24"894*. Penev also broke a historic milestone on Peach Beach with his 1'09"938* 3Lap accompanied by his 0'22"402* FLap. We have our first ever Site Record tie on any track. Fernando Moritz dos Santos and Scott Rogoff took Baby Park Flap down to 0'08"757*, the first site record for each. Alex Penev got two more records on Mushroom Bridge taking the 3Lap all the way into the 1'20"s with his 1'20"850* and his 0'26"447* Flap. Another first-time site record holder is Bart Janssen-Bouwmeester with his 0'32"486* on DC FLap. Alex Penev bested his own records on Sherbet Land racking up two more new SRs this update with a 1'16"487* and a 0'24"501*. Stefan Baczynsky pushed his Dino Dino Jungle 3Lap record even lower with a 1'46"669*. Last and not least Paul Regeffe set some really impressive site records on Bowser's Castle and broke the 2'22" barrier in the process with his 2'21"661* along with his 0'46"492*.

One of my times is messed up...it should be 30'674, not 40'674, on MaC flap. I suck but I don't suck that bad :P
