A change inside the top 10 this update as Trystan Pugh passes William Lacey for 5th. Trystan and William were also the only two active inside the top ten, and Trystan is now ranked higher than two GODs without being GOD himself, as well as being the new UK no.1. Tuomas Dunkel hit a few PRs to move himself up a couple of places to 15.
Now, those of you who have looked at the AvgFin since it got updated will see that it’s rather…orange. Clearly in response to my attempt to get nos. 52-119 moving, practically everyone from 43 through to 228 has made a few very small PRs. Even me, and I don’t have my N64. Or possibly it’s because Julio Cesar Morales was removed. Take your pick for the more plausible theory. However, I can tell you that just preceding the sea of orange, Andre Hermanny, Glyn Valentine and John Santamaria have all been on the move again, reaching 33, 39 and 42 respectively.
Vincent Tolhuis cut another point from his AvgFin on SC, leaving him just a fraction behind Alex Penev in 6th. Having bridged the gap between Louis-Philippe Sabbagh and Penev, the top 5 beckons for VAJ. People who made some small cuts but didn’t move were David Schiering at 27 and Mark Jones at 42. Perhaps if Mark gave the updaters some pictures of himself topless they’d move him up a bit more. Andre went from 53 to 50, pushing George Dimitrou down to 51 despite some cuts of his own, while Tuomas took Andre’s place at 53. Josh Layne managed to record a full set of times for SC for his Universal rivalry and shot up to 84. Unfortunately, his rivals are Vincent and Greg Ihnatenko.
Outside the top 100 on non SC, George has continued his move, making a small cut to reach 122. Sadly, it seems that my time at 119 will be short-lived. It was a good ride. Robin Usher cut 6 AvgFin points to reach 153, and then, if I understand it correctly, blew up his power supply. This will be a great incentive for rival Matt Nissenbaum, who moved 12 places to 173 and did not blow up his power supply. In between them, Robert Szabo was another man who kept moving, up from Matt’s new place of 173 to 162. By this point, my eyes hurt from looking at all the orange, but I can confidently tell you that Alex Smith has been on the move with an cut of nearly 44 to rise to 234. And finally I don’t feel like I’ve been Tangoed as I move down outside the top 250. Jed Grabman rose 7 places to 265, Dimitri Cherniak went up 4 to 305, Stephen Grodek managed a rise of nearly 80 places to hit 312. Our last movers were Brent Dennison at 345 and Sean Bartz at 373.
Three new nonSC players this update:
Derek Moyer – 346 – Expert F
Jonathan Swider – 380 – Advanced B
Gabriel Girard – 383 – Advanced C
And two over on SC:
Sylvain Arnt – 150
Robert Szabo – 275
And that’s about all, folks. I think. I may be seeing everything in orange for a while. Anyway, I’ll sign off by asking the other question on everyone’s mind; just how is Tom going to try and beat Marius? Whatever it is, I’ll bet it’s in 50Hz…
Trystan Pugh was the only active one again in Legened+ land, but Eddie Taylor says he might come back soon, so maybe competition will get a bit more exciting there soon.
In the Universal rivalry, Vincent Tolhuis got some PRs in both SC and Non-SC which helped him barely pass Greg Ihnatenko and take the lead in the rivalry.
John Santamaria and Andre Hermanny made some nice cuts in the Legend C rivalry, Andre strengthening his lead, and John passing Chris Hames, who was also slightly active, for 3rd place. John is getting very close to Legend B, which Andre already reached. Neither of them seems to be having trouble getting PRs, so all you higher Legends, watch out! :P
Robin Usher and Matt Nissenbaum were both active again in the Elite rivalry. Matt set several new rivalry records during the week, but Robin took most of them back and some others, so that Matt's record count did not increase while Robin's went up by two. They both had nice cuts in AF, and Matt is about to pass Fabio, moving into 2nd place behind Robin. Robin will be inactive for a while, so Matt may soon gain the lead.

Also make sure to comment about it at the MB if you DL and watch a few of them. We plan on making compulation vids if there is enough interest. So keep the comments coming. All thanx to Myles for busting this out. Make sure you don't pester him to do the rest. He's got school coming up, but he'll get to them as soon as he can. After all, I think the amount of vids up there will keep you all DLing like crazy for long enough!
For those that have AIM, I also have them up at KipLKinkel. I won't always have aim up though, so the server will double for that.
In the Legend+ rivalry, Trystan Pugh made a couple PRs, including a new rivalry record at BC 3lap.
The rivalry with John Santamaria and Glyn Valentine has some new players, including Chris Hames, Phil McCanna, and Andre Hermanny, who has tied Glyn for the lead. Everyone except Phil was active, which hopefully is a sign that this will be a very active and exciting rivalry.
In the Elite rivalry, Matt Nissenbaum continued his improvements, and Robin Usher came back from inactivity to try to slow Matt's rise through the rivalry. Robin made 4 PR's, but due to Matt's improvements, he did not make any cut in rivalry AF.
And we have a new rivalry with familiar members. Our first Universal rivalry, between Greg Ihnatenko, Vincent Tolhuis, and Josh Layne. Josh is a bit behind the other two due to the fact that he doesn't have SC times yet. Greg leads the rivalry by a slim margin due to his SC talent, but Vincent's Non-SC wins keep him close.
The big news this update is Cooper Lovera finally reaching GOD. Cooper can now proudly call himself the worst GOD ever after hitting the MR flap. It also means I was correct in my prediction of Cooper getting there before Trystan, and so I win…absolutely nothing. Up in the top ten, William Lacey has been hitting some PRs after a long absence. They don’t move him up by much, but he is fifth already and one of them broke his DKJP 3lap WR, so I’ll just shut up on that one. Below Lacey, Mike Simmons also hit a few PRs but stayed at 21, while Josh Layne just did enough to stay ahead of Vincent Tolhuis at 23 and 24 respectively. Andre Hermanny also made some PRs but stayed where he was at 38, while below him new member Julio Cesar Morales is now all the way up to 42. Just down from there, the Valentine/Santamaria battle rages on, with John climbing 3 to 46 while Glyn did even better and rose 5 to 43. In between them, Chris Hames will be wondering how he cut 0.7 from his AvgFin and managed to drop two places.
In SC, Vincent was the highest-placed mover with an AvgFin cut of a point, staying in 7th place, and he had the CM 3lap PAL WR as part of those times. Vincent has also just moved himself up to second on LR 3lap with another PAL WR; congratulations, VAJ! George Dimitrou went up 2 places to reach number 50, while just behind him were Julio, in at 52 with his SC times, Andre at 53 and MK64’s worst GOD, Cooper. Jed Grabman broke into the SC top 100 at 99. Two other names to mention: Patrick James was up to 127 with a 15 point AvgFin cut, while new Japanese player Masayuki Kanehisa came in at 162.
Returning to nonSC, there was a large gap between Nathan Stinson, up 5 to 51, and *scrolls down*…me, up 2 at 120. And I just found some old PRs from a month or so ago. What’re you doing, no. 52-119? Look lively! Just below me George continued to improve, up 3 more places since the last update to 125, while Vincent van der Fluit also kept playing and added 9 places onto his rank in the second half of July, now sitting at 131. Further down the table, there were three guys all in the red with some big cuts: Robert Zsabo continuing his rise, up from 219 to 173, Matt Nissenbaum getting overtaken by Robert but still moving 25, up to 185, and Mike Gaydeski, shooting up all the way from 256 to 187. Outside the top 200, Elizabeth Mimms moved 6 places to 233 and Jed Grabman added to his SC gains by passing 3 people to reach 272. A big mover in July was Jacob McMillin, cutting 84 AvgFin points to rocket up to 307, while Brent Dennison at 348 and Patrick James at 408 also made small moves.
Look at all the new player fun! Welcome to these six new karters:
Dmitri Cherniak – 310 – Semi-Pro F
Masayuki Kanehisa – 375 – Intermediate A
Brandon Yauch – 382 – Advanced C
Josh Griffin – 476 – Beginner B
Sjoerd Jochems – 495 - Newbie
Jacob Przemus – 497 - Newbie
And that's about it from me today. I've been Darius Austin, see ya in a couple of weeks, karters!
