Monday, May 22, 2006 - News update - May 2006 I - by Marius at 3:10 am
Hey folks! This will be my first News update ever! So dish out my e-mail adress and rant as much as you can , so that I can get better :)
I was supposed to do this earlier as some of you might know , but stuff happened so I had to wait a bit. I feel ok enough to try this now though.
Ok , I`ll keep quiet and let the news do the talking now :P

First , the Non-SC movement:

Jesse Hristovski gained a spot getting into the the lower half of LEG +.
He passed Booth in the process landing on #19, pushing Booth onto the edge of the top 20...( maybe its time for a short comeback booth )
Josh Layne also cut 2 points in ARR and landed spot on 1.000 , closing in on Tim Everett , while trying to keep Greg I. behind him.
John Santamaria also cut a few points off , gaining 3 spots , landing just outside the top 50 , at #51
Sean Sullivan gained two spots with his PR`s and now sits at #59.

And that concludes the movement inside the top 100.

Mentions outisde the top 100 , Darius Austin #122 and George Dimitriou #152 both gained a few spots.
Fabio Ferreira gained 15 spots ! Keeping that up and he`ll join up with Geroge at #152 in no-time.
Luiz Galante also did a nice jump with 13 spots! Breaking into the top 200 in the process.
Other movers : Chris Flemmer #292 - #246!! Elizabeth Mimms #267 - #250 !
Also active : Jeremy Aube #219 , Vincent Zee #230 , John Boger #357 , James Bertolli #363 , Bo Garman #389 and Jason Foss # 471

New Players : Mike Milon #377 Robert Szabo #424
Stephen Grodek #441 Jacob Paspon #448

All from the U.S.A!

Onto SC movement:

Greg Ihnatenko is now 1 improvement short of reaching SC GOD , he`s also real close to passing Steven Gutierrez in Avg.Fin as well .Greg is now #4 in avg.fin and #3 in ARR.
Vincent Tolhois ( Vaj ) gained 1 spot and reached #7 in avg.fin.
Pat Bertovich did a nice cut and climbed up to #34 in avg.fin . Well enough to put him ahead of the recently active Willi Rossberg.
George Dimitriou gained a few spots here as well , just as in Non-sc. He now sits at #56 in avg.fin , just ahead of Cooper Lovera , and not too far behind Marius Hukkelås.... ( now why did I say that , he`ll probably get even more fired up and beat me silly now... D`oh!)
Sean Sullivan , just as Dimitriou , gained in SC too. Passing non-sc Champion Michael Jongerius in avg.fin , landing at # 121.
Jader Silva made a little leap and is now #170.

The first very unofficial PPP (Power Play of the Period) award goes to Chris Flemmer for his 46 spot jump! Keep it up!

Ok , that about rounds it up for the first half of May. A little short on submissions now , but people are definately moving around .Until next time -

Keep the karts running people!

Sunday, May 14, 2006 - WR Page Update - by Pier-Yves at 10:06 pm
I just finished school so I now have free time again.

Since the last update done 1 month ago there was only one World Record set and it was Marcelo Almeida dos Reis who improved for the second time his BB 3lap time. He lowered his 1'44"31 to 1'44"26*. He wasn't happy with the splits but decided it would be good for now.

With this the chart didn't change at all since he already held that record and it wasn't a tie.

Saturday, May 13, 2006 - PAL&NTSC Rankings Updated - by Michael at 5:25 am
It's been a while since previous update. So, quite a lot of things happened.

PAL non-shortcut
Trystan Pugh became #3, pushing Sami Cetin to #4. The regularly active players Hristovski, Tolhuis, Ihnatenko and Santamaria all gained one or more spots. Glyn Valentine is a strong upcoming new player who entered the PAL rankings at #25. George Dimitriou is also new to the PAL nonSC rankings at 44th place.

PAL shortcut
Ben Miller became #1 in front of Alex Penev! And interestingly enough, he did that without playing. Apparently some other people are selectively taking down Alex' SC PRs without beating Ben's PRs...
George Dimitriou also made some good impact by reaching #18

NTSC non-shortcut
Marcelo Almeida dos Reis got 5 new World Records and Karlo Tomazelli Tomazelli got 4 new World Records. So, quite a few WRs from "Former Member" got beaten or tied. Marcelo became the new NTSC non-SC World Champion, with a small 7 points lead on Karlo.
Eddie Taylor passed Jamie White and Cooper Lovera passed Kevin Booth. Andre Hermanny climbed from 29th to 23rd place.

NTSC shortcut
Myles Bukrim passed former champion Steven Gutierrez for 2nd place. Karlo Tomazelli is still #1 and even increased his lead a little. Jivago Pacheco da Silva got on the shortcut ranks at #30 thanks to a nice sub 1'20 LR 3lap SC time.

Strong play by Legend+ players Greg Ihnatenko (shortcut) and Jesse Hristovski. Nice ranking promotions by John Santamaria (Legend D) and Luiz Galante (Elite F). Big rankings jumps by Chris Flemmer (#246, Pro F) and Elizabeth Mimms (#250, Semi-Pro A). And we can welcome two new members: Jacob Papson, from the USA, joins at #465 in AvgFin (Apprentice F). Mike Milon, also from the USA, joins at #392 (Advanced F).

Friday, May 05, 2006 - News Update - April 2006 II - by Darius at 7:19 pm
After a lovely summer’s day (we have to take what we can get in England), it’s time for a look at the karting action from the second half of April…

No change at the top of the AvgFin board as Marcelo and Karlo remain at 2 and 3 respectively. Lucas Oliver took a place to 13th and Cooper Lovera is now 17th on his own after making a small cut to pass Tuomas Dunkel.

Vincent Tolhuis is continuing to make a significant impression on the SC charts, moving another three places in the last couple of weeks to reach 8th in the world. There’s an AvgFin jump of around 5 from Louis-Philippe Sabbagh at 7 to Alex Penev at 6, but if Vincent can keep improving as he has been, who knows how high he can climb? Vincent was also one of three players were moving up in the nonSC twenties, Greg Ihnatenko just keeping himself ahead of the rising Vincent at 26th, while just below Josh Layne was making some more cuts but not quite enough to pass him, still climbing to 28 from 31.

Moving 7 places up the SC ladder to number 36 was Willi Rossberg, and just below him Pat Bertovich became tied for 38th with Frank DiNicola. On the nonSC side, Glyn Valentine recorded some great times, including a God on KTB 3lap, to move all the way up to 73 from 117. Michael Farmer continued his cuts in April to climb another five places to 93. George Dimitrou is a man who has been improving lately, and he gained another 2 places in the SC charts to 58 in the second half of April while rising 21 places on nonSC to 152.

Elsewhere outside the top 100, I reached the lofty heights of joint 125th with Joakim Alderborn, while Pat Bertovich added to his SC place climb with one here, to 138. Vincent van der Fluit was another man keeping up his PRs in the second half of April, getting into the top 150 at 143. Brian Lloyd also maintained his improvement, getting to 174th from 186th.

Luiz Galante is on the edge of the top 200 at 202 after a small cut, while Jeff Kottcamp hopped to 255 and Elizabeth Mimms managed a significant jump from 302 up to 269. Jeff also climbed the SC charts to joint 218th. We had 2 new players in the second half of April:

NonSC - Jason Foss – Newbie A - 477
SC – Jader Silva – 265

That’s all for this update. See you next time…unless the addictiveness of MKDS online completely devours me and I forget to eat.
