Up at the top, William Lacey finally submitted his BC 3lap WR, beating Michael Jongerius’ time by 0”04 and giving him 3 WRs in total. Just behind him, Andre Hermanny continued his rise up the charts by tying Michael Fried for 7th. There’s now a gap of around 3 AF to the bunch at 4-6; can Andre bridge it? Another new GOD, Luke Barnard, moved closer to Sami Cetin in 10th. Luke is now within 1.5 AF of Sami and another man who isn’t that far away is Vincent Tolhuis. He needs less than half a point to pass Jamie White for 12th and is also very close to his goal of becoming only the second ever universal GOD after Karlo Tomazelli.
John Falls Marshall moved up yet again, climbing another place into 23rd and getting incredibly close to that top 20. Alex Penev, Cooper Lovera, Kevin Booth and Jesse Hristovski are all separated by just a single AF point and JFM may just be about to pass them all. John’s eternal companion Maurice Fleer continues to impress, taking advantage of another tight cluster of players to move from 40th to 34th. He is now the Netherlands no. 4 and anyone who knows anything about kart can tell you how good that is. The last mover in the top 50 was Nathan Stinson, who passed Richard Karlsson for 41st.
Over on SC, John surged past a cluster of players to get into the top 10, now in a very impressive 9th place! Also PRing was…Maurice, of course, although he remained in 17th. New non-SC GOD Andre Hermanny improved some of his SC times but stayed in 40th. Matthias Rustemeyer made a great cut of nearly 33 to move into 89th. Alvin van Asselt moved into the top 200 at 195 while Matt Hedding broke the top 300 at 292.
David Schiering’s progress also continued, up into 54th to add to his excellent March cuts. Matt Nissenbaum cut the smallest possible amount from his AF and stayed in 79th. Marcos Vincius Alves broke into the top 100 at 99 and moved back closer to his rival Daniel Lesiak. Rene Bauer had a gigantic cut, slashing 111 from his AF to rocket all the way up to 141st! Johnny Hengel couldn’t stop himself getting passed but still moved up a few places to 145th. Matthias Rustemeyer was another player with a huge cut, up from 244th into 182nd.
Bo Garman and Eric Tapani both had small cuts in 223 and 241 respectively. Brendan Schmidt made a terrific 90 AF cut, smashing into the top 300 at 279. Oyvind Lokken moved up into 336th while Sam Parker joined Brendan in having a great second month with a 75 AF cut to get to 361st. Kristopher Lamp had a nice 42 point cut to reach 517.
New players from the first half of April:
Willem Pieters – 168 – Elite A
Randall Blazek – 335 – Semi-Pro C
Nicholas Hindes – 468 – Advanced C
Eric Monte – 529 – Intermediate D
And that’s all for the first half of April! Check back in a couple of weeks to see if there’s yet more change in the top 10 and if I’ve managed to stop playing MKWii…
First of all, we have to congratulate the second new GOD in March! Andre Hermanny picked up the remaining three GODs he needed in the second half of March to become the 8th GOD, joining his compatriots Karlo Tomazelli and Marcelo Almeida dos Reis to give us three Brazilians with GOD status. He has since passed Sami Cetin to get himself to 8th in the world, only a fraction behind Michael Fried. Luke Barnard showed that he was not going to rest on his laurels after hitting GOD, making PRs on RRy and YV to move himself closer to the top 10. Sami is now dangerously close to slipping out of the top 10 altogether, and he could find himself even further down than that as Vincent Tolhuis joined in with the action in the top 20. He stayed in 13th but got closer to both Jamie White and becoming the ninth GOD. Could we have three in two months?
The next man in action was…yes, you guessed it, John Falls Marshall! Frankly, if you didn’t guess it then you haven’t been paying attention for several months. John moved up three more places, tying Mike Simmons for 24th and putting himself in sight of the top 20. John’s name almost always appears in the same paragraph as Maurice Fleer’s these days and Maurice made sure it did again, although he stayed in 40th. Nathan Stinson went past Steven Gutierrez to reclaim his spot in 42nd amidst that tight cluster of players inside the top 50. In-between the two men was Zoran Tintor, who hit a BB PR after a break of a month but remains in 28th.
Over on shortcut…well, you shouldn’t even have to guess this time. John passed Kevin Booth to move into 14th and isn’t that far away from passing Jason Whalls too. Maurice Fleer stayed in 17th but got some new KD SC times. David Schiering went up another 4 places into 20th with some great new PRs that helped him to gain the POM award.
David’s hugely impressive month extended to non-SC too, where he added to his 35 place move from the first half of the month to climb into 58th and even pass Darius Austin, an achievement that surely must have clinched POM. Or maybe it was, you know, all those PRs. Darius himself finished fighting with BC but slipped down a place thanks to David’s progress. Someone who will never pass Darius (I’ll live to regret that) is Matt Nissenbaum, who made some more PRs but stayed in 79th. Continuing on that theme, Robin Usher moved past Fabien da Silva into 88th, although he was helped by Fabien’s corrected BC time; sadly, Fabien no longer has a sub-2’09 BC WR. Daniel Lesiak added to his cuts from the first half of the month and moved up another 7 places to 97th, meaning that Marcos Vincius Alves’ efforts could only keep him where he was, in 101st.
Bo Garman had an incredible month in March. Already up 76 places from the first half of the month, he went from 384th all the way to 221st with an AF cut of over 150, making it a cut of well over 200 for the month! Matthias Rustemeyer was up 6 places into 244th while Austin Gates came back for his first PRs since November and moved into 274th. Between those two, Brad Howard made it an impressive second month in MK64, rocketing up from 338th into 257th. Oyvind Lokken had an even better debut month, jumping a massive 159 places to go from 527th to 368th! Marcus Whitley’s efforts were made to look small by comparison even though he still moved up 28 places into 488th. Matt Hedding was the last mover of the month, up into 575th.
5 new players in the second half of March:
Jared Weber – 276 – Pro B – 274 SC
Brendan Schmidt – 387 – Expert B
Sam Parker – 464 – Advanced C
Toby Hooper – 482 – Advanced D
Alvaro Fababu – unranked – Newbie C
And that’s all the action for March! Check back soon for all the movers for April and see who will be sticking with MK64 with the release of MKWii.

January
Straight from the top the new SC Champion Vincent Tolhuis was the first person to hit an incredible WR this year. Yes, the fastest time in MK64 History. It was WS sc flap. He was able to jump over the wall like in Greg’s vid, (also with Bowser) and so he came up with an 2’11* NTSC converted 2’54* PAL. This way he beat Greg’s time by 0’02. He thinks it could go down, under 2 seconds?!!. Lets hope so…
A couple days later that month VAJ was increasing his number of WR’s. He tied Miller on YV sc flap 5”78**. Way the go Vincent.
February
The NON-SC Champion Michael Jongerius made a bunch of WR in the first quarter of this year, starting with KD 3lap 1’44’23*. MJ used his own and incredible strat, going trough the wheels of the train. It didn’t took long for MJ to pr after his first WR this year and so he broke both BB WR. The new WR’s are BB 3lap 1’44’22* and BB flap 34’08*. MJ says he still can improve on the flap. Wooottt!!
March
It was Michael Jongerius again who made the WR page happy!
He (finally) Tied Troy Ullmans strong WR RRy 3lap 2’23’29**.
MJ Rocks!! He is breaking WR’s so easy that he took Troy’s old WR RRy flap 46’42.
Within 2 days, he made a 0’01 cut on RRy flap so the WR now is 46’41* .
The unstoppable MJ broke Karlo’s WR on YV 3lap 1’25’61*.
To end up with MJ he had an amazing WR improvement by breaking the 2’01.xx PAL barrier on FS 3lap 1’40’62*.
In the same month it was Luke Barnard who shows up again on the WR page. Our newest GOD, Broke the pretty strong MR flap from Lucas (23’07).
Luke was able to cut 0’02 which is an pretty big cut for a short track, so the MR flap is down to 23’05*.
Congratulations everybody!
To complete:
Whit all this activity we saw:
MJ the sky rocker gets 4 new WR’s and 4 improvements.
VAJ hits 2 new WR’s and Luke 1 WR.
Karlo, Troy and Lucas Lost all 1 WR. And Marcelo disappeared from the WR-page.
I hope to see more from these days….. so players give it a try and make me happy.
