POW - Week 3 (17th-24th)
Well this is a bit tricky. Jeffrey Gutierrez made only one time submission this week, but it massively improved his Non-sc stats and allowed him to enter the top 100 in ARR and reach Elite C. I'm not sure how many of those times were actually improved during this week though. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and award him with the POW. His older brother was second favourite for it, so at least no non-Gutierrez family member got screwed because of that decision. Jeffrey, if you got all those times within this week, well done. But as a general rule, please try to submit your times on a daily basis (or at least 2-3 times a week).

- Player list update - by Steven G at 3:17 pm
Cooper Lovera continues to rampage up the ranks, reaching King-D!!! Ben Broadwater moves up 10 ranks on the list, moving to Elite-C. Other active players were Kevin Booth, Thomas Grandjean, Steven Gutierrez, Marc Geraghty, Ben Broadwater and Dean Barnhart.

- Server upgrade - by Michael at 3:21 am
We're going to upgrade to a new and better server during one of these days. If everything goes right, you shouldn't notice anything of it. But it's possible some downtime will occur, and the messageboard might get closed for a short time.

- Top100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 3:18 am
Merry christmas to all! This update was from 24th december. Wasn't able to upload it earlier. Kevin Booth reached a nice 2nd place on the Combined Average Finish rankings.

Thursday, December 25, 2003 - As Whalls Promised... - by Kevin at 10:52 pm
It's finally out, and just in time! The highly-anticipated sequal to the chat you've never had is out. Probably more highly-anticipated, because you guys are all scared you are going to get made fun of. I never had that anxiety, cause I personally knew I'd get it. What I find amazing is that even though it's totally fake, is that a lot of the stuff that is said or that happens is actually very close to things that were going to happen eventually, or could have happened if conditions were slighly different. Well Whalls did it again, and without further adue, here ya go!

SPEAK OF THE DEVIL

Monday, December 22, 2003 - National/Continental Records Updated - by Tim at 5:35 pm
Due to time and procrastination, I apologize for having not updated since November 7. But it's all back, and will be done roughly once every 2-3 weeks (sorry). Maybe more every once in a while. Many of the newer players have been making an impact, such as Marc Geraghty and Marius Hukkelås. Steven Gutierrez set two of his own American records. The now-inactive Habrich has a stranglehold on USA 3-lap and very close on 1-lap, where I stepped in.
State/provinical records have been taken down. The old pages still exist on the server, but I won't be updating them. The national records page does not link to those anymore, so you can only access them if you memorized the address, or ask me about it.

- Player list update - by Steven G at 5:27 am
Tim Everett get's a NTSC WR, improving him a bit on the list. I finally made King-B in non-sc, and increased 8 number ranks! Cooper Lovera, Ben Broadwater, and Dean Barnhart all improved there number ranks a bit. Marius Hukkelaas moves up one arr rank, reaching Elite-A. Marc Geraghty also moved up one arr rank, moving to Elite-C. My brother Jeffrey Gutierrez, allready showing he has mad skills, improved his number rank drasticly, moving 55 places and reaching Elite-C!!! Jonathon Halford suffered a number rank set back, from all the activity going on. Adam Mottram PR'd a bit. Kevin Booth and Brent Wingert were the only active players in shortcuts.

Sunday, December 21, 2003 - Top100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 12:19 pm
A nice total of 12 active players in the last 4 days. Legend players Kevin Booth and Brent Wingert showed some shortcut activity. Tim Everett got a strong 3rd ranked time of 1'38"20 on Rainbow Road fastlap. Steven Gutierrez went to improve his non-shortcut times and reached King B there. The rising stars Cooper Lovera and Marius Hukkelaas kept improving their stats quickly. Four active players in the Elite C/Elite D ranks were ranked very close together: Marc Geraghty, Ben Broadwater, Jonathon Halford and Dean Barnhart. However, one player passed all 4 of them. Jeffrey Gutierrez made a very remarkable leap from #145 (Pro D) to #96 (Elite C). And finally Adam Mottram improved a few places on the AvgFin list, though his ARR score stayed at Intermediate C.

Thursday, December 18, 2003 - WR/POW/POW points updated - by Thomas at 10:10 am
World Record
Steven Gutierrez has improved his Mario Raceway WR numerous times this week, making sure it's out of anyone's reach. It now stands at 51"32* (1'01"71).

POW - Week 2 (9th-16th)
As was already stated by Michael and Steven, there were some very impressive performances this week. Amongst those, Norwegian player Marius Hukkelaas is the one who made the greatest improvement : he passed 58 players and reached Elite B, earning his first award since joining the site! If he keeps playing he could join Cooper Lovera and become a King player himself by the end of the month.

Thursday, December 18, 2003 - Player list update - by Steven G at 10:26 pm
Congratulate Cooper Lovera for reaching the King ranks!! Marius Hukkelaas made another nice leap this update, moving to #88! Marc Geraghty reached Elite-D. My brother Jeffrey Gutierrez became active, moving from Expert-A to Pro-D! Other active players were Thomas Grandjean, Steven Gutierrez, Dean Barnhart and Tianyi Liu. Brent Wingert and I were the only active players in shortcut.

- Top100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 12:15 pm
Huge ranking improvements by Cooper Lovera (reached King F!), Marius Hukkelaas (Elite F to Elite B!!!) and Marc Geraghty. Steven Gutierrez improved the Mario Raceway 3lap SC WR several times this week.

Saturday, December 13, 2003 - PAL & NTSC Rankings updated - by Michael at 12:22 am
The rankings reflect the changes from the past 4 weeks. In NTSC, Eric Habrich now has an absurdly huge lead over #2 ranked player Kevin Booth. Kevin doesn't have any nonSC NTSC WRs left, while Eric has 28 out of 32 WRs(!). Michael Fried is the biggest climber in nonSC. Steven Gutierrez reached #8 in SC, and he got 2 NTSC WRs.
The PAL top ranks didn't see many ranking changes. Michael Jongerius got a few more PAL WRs though. Andrew Hannath puts his name among the top15 shortcut players. Marius Hukkelaas and Yann Ledrux entered the nonSC world rankings.

- Top100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 12:03 am
Congrats to Marius Hukkelaas for making such a great jump on the nonSC ranks and reaching Elite F. Also congrats to Marc Geraghty for reaching Elite. Kevin Booth boosted his nonSC-AvgFin score by passing 7 players on DK's Jungle 3lap. Steven Gutierrez's new World Record at Mario Raceway 3lap SC helped him to reach Legend C in shortcuts! 5 other players were active. And our new member Adam Mottram joins at #270 in non-shortcut AvgFin, ranked Intermediate C.

Saturday, December 13, 2003 - Player list update - by Steven G at 11:30 pm
Lower rank activity is booming, and higher rank activity has slowed down.

Dean Barnhart moved from Elite-F to Elite-D. Marius Hukkelaas rockets up the ranks, moving from #147 to #113, making Elite-F, right in front of Marc Geraghty! Although active, Ignacio Caceres Lezcano took a setback, as Hukkelaas jumped ahead of him. Marc Geraghty jumps to Elite-F, right behind Hukkelaas. Tianyi Liu made a nice improvement. Other active players were Kevin Booth, Ben Broadwater and Chris Williams. I reached Legend-C, and jumped in front of Sami Cetin in shortcut, and I'm now right behind Brent Wigert!

new member: We have a new karter, welcome Adam Mottram to the player page. He ranks in at Intermediate-C.

- Player of the Season - by Thomas at 1:17 pm
The Fall (September-November) POS has been decided. Not that it took me more than 10 days to make a decision, it's just that I had completely forgotten that such an award even existed (although I shouldn't have, since this is quite an important one) :-/

There were initially 6 contenders (Habrich, Everett, Fried, Caudle, Gutierrez and Lovera). That number was then reduced to 2: Habrich and Fried. Eric went from #6 to #2, earning 4 overall WRs in the process, while Michael won 20 and 15 places to secure the #22 and #19 ranks in Non-sc and shortcut, respectively. It was a really tough decision to make: is lowering your AvgFin from 6.875 to 2.969 a stronger or a weaker achievement then lowering it from 45.875 to 22.813 in Non-sc and from 45 to 25.9 in shortcut? In the end though, someone had to be chosen, and you can see who that is at the usual adress.

Wednesday, December 10, 2003 - Player list update - by Steven G at 7:48 pm
I made Legend-D on the shortcut list, and will soon be Legend-C! Marc Geraghty makes Master-B. Tianyi Liu makes Semipro-A. Cooper Lovera gets closer to King-F. Chris Williams made a minor improvement.

- WR/POW/POW points updated - by Thomas at 12:10 pm
World Record
Shortcut specialist Steven Gutierrez has just earned his first ever World Record!! He came very close on Luigi Raceway a few days ago (0'04 off the WR), but this time made sure to earn the #1 rank on Mario Raceway. The record is now 51"53* (1'01"96), with very consistent splits of 17"19, 17"16, and 17"18.

POW Week 1 - 1st-8th
That WR couldn't be taken into account, since it was achieved after the POW period. But that wasn't a real setback for Steven, since he was basically the only real active player during this week. Lots of prs and a great cut at both the ARR and AvgFin rankings, mainly in shortcuts, reaching Legend D and getting closer to the AvgFin top 10, earn him a fully deserved Player of the Week award.

Biggest move made was by me, reaching Legend-F in shortcut, and will soon be Legend-D! Dave Phaneuf moves from Pro-A to Master-B. Marc Geraghty makes Master-D. Chris Williams makes Semipro-F. Ignacio Caceres Lezcano moves from Master-F to Master-D, drawing closer to the Elite ranks. Eric Habrich got some pr's. Tianyi Liu was also active.

- Top100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 5:53 am
Rankings are updated with times from about 24 hours ago. Congrats to Steven Gutierrez on reaching Legend in shortcuts and getting his first NTSC World Record! Eric Habrich also got one NTSC WR. Dave Phaneuf and marc Geraghty stormed into the master ranks. Ignacio Lezcano, Chris Williams, and Tianyi Liu were the other active players.

Friday, December 05, 2003 - Steven Gutierrez Tape In - by Kevin at 1:04 pm
Well for those that are doubters, It's in. It cleary shows a loop+SC+SC on Rainbow Road, and he's only the 2nd player in history to do a MYLE+SC+SC on LR SC! I also saw a pretty damn good one shroom first lap of 33"16 on LR, as well as a good SC lap on MR SC. He also ran a pretty consistent MR SC run, with all 3 SC lands to the right of the flower.

Well not much more to say, but by the looks of things, he's really understanding the game now to a new level, and those overalls are going to look sweet for him soon.

Habrich's weekly World Record
As you are probably all aware by now, Eric Habrich has improved his tied Wario Stadium WR by the tightest of margins. The new reference is now 1'12"54* (1'27"22), still driven on lap 1.

POW Week 4 - 25th-30th
Cooper Lovera has been on the site for less than 2 months, but he has already made quite a big impact on the rankings. He got plenty of prs this week and climbed to Elite A. Unquestionnably this week's Player of the Week.

POM November
This one was between Eric Habrich and Cooper Lovera, who both won 2 POW awards this month. Eric reached God, got quite a few WRs and passed Sami Cetin for the #2 rank. Cooper went from Elite F to Elite A and firmly established himself in the top 100. The identity of the winner is in one of those links on the left.

Tuesday, December 02, 2003 - Player list update - by Steven G at 6:07 am
non-sc: Cooper Lovera is in the spot light this update, moving to Elite-A with some decent PR's. Come to think about it, Lovera has been moving up the ranks pretty fast! Good job, Lovera! Marc Geraghty leaps from Pro-F to Pro-B. Tianyi Liu moves from Semipro-D to Semipro-B. Other active players were Eric Habrich, Kevin Booth, Thomas Grandjean, Tim Everett, Michael Fried, Brent Wingert, Scott Brehm and Ignacio Caceres Lezcano.

shortcut: Tim Everett improves his shortcut times and makes King-C! New player Andrew Hannath has allready begun climbing the ranks, making Elite-C! Michael Fried is now right behind me on the shortcut list, he will probably be passing me up soon. Other active players were Kevin Booth and Brent Wingert.

new member: We have a new karter this update. Mike Brooks , he is Elite-D on the shortcut list! Brooks doesn't have a complete set of non-sc times, so he is not on the non-sc list.

Monday, December 01, 2003 - Top100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 4:55 am
Some impressive non-shortcut progress by Cooper Lovera. Andrew Hannath completed his strong set of shortcut times. Michael Fried and Tim Everett also did well in shortcuts this week. Kevin Booth and Eric Habrich got some great overall World Records. And we have one new player. Welcome to Mike Brooks from Canada. He's ranked Elite D in shortcuts!
