Sunday, October 28, 2001 - POW and Join Updated - by Kevin at 8:03 pm
Just decided POW weeks 2 and 3. Week 2 was really a 2 person race, but week 3 was very difficult to decide, cause there were alot of players that put out some decent stuff that week. POW will be decided soon, and Dunkel and Fairbourn will surely try to get some last PRs to supplement that. Each has already made it quite clear they would like to receive this honor.

Also, the join page has now been simplified so you can get what you need to join the page right away. I will be putting up some more informative pages most likely at a further date. Keep up the great karting, and I hope to see some more new members soon.

Ben Miller, the #2 ranked shortcut player improved his PAL Worldrecord on Wario Stadium 3lap SC. It looks like the overall WR on that track might go down soon...
Michael Liem got 2 PRs on Rainbow Road. His NTSC-converted time breaks the famous 5'00"00 barrier on Rainbow Road nonSC 3lap. With those times he broke the tie for 9th place with Myles Bukrim on the ARR list.
Brent Wingert had a good week, as he finally reached Elite A with his ARR score. Louis Nebout reached a top 100 ranking on both the ARR list and the nonSC Avg Finish list this week.
Other people with new PRs include Ruokai Chen, Tom Gaffikin, Anthony Dunkel and Christian Juarez. Keep up the good karting folks!

Sunday, October 21, 2001 - Top 100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 12:24 pm
Most important news in this update is the entry of new player Steven Foy. This person is one of those extremely talented gamers from the Perfect Dark & Goldeneye community. He's also showing his skills on MK64 now. In the past few weeks, he has earned himself an Elite A rank. And with an ARR score of 10.656 he's only a few points away from King level!
Another player who's aiming to reach the King ranks is Joakim Alderborn. He improved his ARR score from 11.125 to 10.781.
In other news, Derek Clark improved his FS SC time, and is getting close to #15 on the Shortcut AvgFin rankings. Brent Wingert got an awesome DKJP 3lap time. He might be one other player who can reach the King ranks someday. Christian Juarez passed Ruokai Chen to reach Elite C level. Fairbourn and Dunkel are keeping the race through the Master/Elite ranks alive. Louis Nebout and Tom Gaffikin also improved some times.

William Lacey has had an awesome week. He got a new overall Worldrecord on Mario Raceway 3lap, and several other great PRs. He passed Kevin Booth on the Avg Fin ranking.
Other big movers: Anthony Dunkel reached the Elite ranks. Beau Fairbourn is having an awesome 30+ days PR streak. He passed Jeram, to reach Master B rank. Ryan Wiley finally got a complete set of non-shortcut times. He becomes Semi-Pro C with that.
Also, we have 3 new members. Christian Juarez from Chile enters in the Elite Ranks! Tom Gaffikin is #88 in NonSC AvgFin, and Seb Fassam is #140 on that list.
Some other people set PRs as well. I suggest you check the rankings yourself to view it.

Sunday, October 14, 2001 - Just A Quick Update - by Kevin at 12:46 pm
I'm gonna be working like a dog next week, so I figured I better bust out a PL update. Next update, I'll have at least 2 new members to add to the list. Anyhow, Just like to tell everyone that Louis Nebout is indeed active, and has been for awhile, dispite what the players list said. I have fixed it, and he is oranged as he should be.

It seems that Mark Jones is no longer the hot hand, and it has been turned over To Dunkel, and Wingert. Time will tell, and it will be very interesting to see who gets where in the next couple months. Alot of talent here, and it's just gonna get more intense, I feel!

Saturday, October 13, 2001 - PAL & NTSC Rankings updated - by Michael at 1:15 pm
It's been awhile, but finally all PAL and NTSC tables have been updated. Check them all out. The Freak rankings show a nice overview of what happened in the past 6 weeks. In the separate PAL and NTSC worldrankings, we see some new players making their entry in the lists.

Brent Wingert passed Eise Smit and is heading for Elite A level now. Ruokai Chen made Elite C with his new PRs.
Anthony Dunkel and Mark Jones reached the Master ranks this week. Dunkel is only a few points away from Elite. Stanley Jeram and Beau Fairbourn are trying to follow those 2 players. With Pro A and Pro C ranks, we can expect them to hit Master ranks soon as well.
In the advanced/expert ranks, Nick Mulder climbed from #134 to #122 on the ARR list. Josh Hawkins stayed ahead of him, by moving from #130 to #115. Louis Nebout also set some PRs.

Monday, October 08, 2001 - POW and POINTS UPDATED + MORE - by Kevin at 7:05 pm
Hello Everyone! 4 Awards freshly decided. One of them is no suprise, but the other 3 might feature some suprise winners. Check it out! All I can say is that there has been some excellent play as of late, and alot of submissions to the Yahoogroup, which means we might be in for a record month. 230 is the Yahoo Group PR, and 227 is this years PR in June, and I really think we can pull it off. Keep up the great Karting All!

The Player to beat this month is gonna be Mark Jones. He is showing some outstanding growth, and he will be avenging some Player Award losses this month, and will be making it quite clear who will be passing who :)

The New Recruits are doing great as well. As Liem reported before, there is some amazing playing going on in the Professional/Master section, and it really is hard to pick a winner for the POW awards, but would we rather have it any other way?

Sunday, October 07, 2001 - Top 100s, ARRs & AvgFins Updated - by Michael at 12:36 am
What happened this week:

Legends:
Kevin Booth hits a GOD time on Kalimari Desert flap, which cuts another point from his ARR score.

Kings:
Welcome back to Nathan Stinson! His Twingalaxies tape has been reviewed, and he gets back at King A level, just behind Lars Nouwen! In shortcut AvgFin he's ranked #26.
David Tran made some more significant PRs. He's getting closer to King C and to Yrvin van Wijk.

Elites:
Malo and Smit improved their ARR scores a little. Chen got a great King B time on DKJP flap. He has not closed the gap to Wingert and Smit yet, but he's getting closer.

Pros:
Some great activity here this week! Anthony Dunkel has an 8-day PR streak that moves him into the Pro A ranks. We can look forward to see him hitting the Master and Elite ranks soon. However, Dunkel should also watch his back:
Stanley Jeram passed 5 players to move from Pro D to Pro B. And Mark Jones jumped from Semi-Pro to Pro B, beating 11 players including Jeram! Another 2 rising stars are seen in the Pro F ranks. Beau Fairbourn skipped the semi-pro ranks, and went straight from Expert to Pro this week. Pier-Yves Lemire now has times on all 32 nonSC tracks, which resulted in a Pro F rank for him.

Other:
Louis Nebout, Ryan Wiley and Josh Hawkins are also setting PRs to climb the rankings.

Edit: It looks like the 20m.com server is down. If the link at the menu on the left doesn't work, go here to check the top 100s.

Monday, October 01, 2001 - Online PAL to NTSC calculator - by Michael at 5:34 am
To all PAL players. I added an online calculator to the top 100 page, that converts PAL times to NTSC times. Manually dividing times by 1.2024 can be a little elaborate sometimes if you just want to have a quick look at your rank. So this tool should help you with it. But remember, if you're submitting times, allways submit times in the original format. So, if you're a PAL player, just submit your PAL times, and we'll convert the times for you.

- End of Month update - by Michael at 5:31 am
I updated the top 100 page, ARR and AvgFin rankings. It's only been 2 days since previous update, but tons of new times have been set!
Welcome to 3 new members: Alexandru Balahura, a PAL player from Romania, who has some strong shortcut times. Ryan Wiley, from the USA, and Pier-Yves Lemire, from Canada. Ryan and Pier-Yves have some very fast entry times. The fact that they don't have all 32 nonshortcut times yet, is the only thing that prevents them from getting a high rank for now.
In other news, Kevin Booth got a 1'54"78 on DKJP, pushing me out of the top 10 on that track...
We see activity from Elite players Smit, Wingert and Chen. Wingert has reached Elite B and is once again very close to Eise Smit. Dunkel, Jones and Jeram are inching their way to the elite ranks. Also, Louis Nebout and Matt Broderick came back to gain some spots.
